In 1992 Mayo Foundation went under drastic changes. New healthcare facilities were
opening nearby threatening mayo healthcare’s activities. Mayo leaders motivate the
insurance and delivery system imposed by the Health Care Financing Administration
(today known as Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services). To contribute success and
resist the challenges, Mayo Foundation practiced several new factors like; real physician
leadership, higher quality of care, system development, commitment to the communitybased health care, and a strong reputation for delivering an exceptional quality of a health
care delivery system.

The changes concerning licensing and regulatory factors that must be considered in the
future are centered on quality management and quality measures. This book explains
quality in health care through error and variation along with regulating the quality and
quantity of health care. Furthermore, concepts of process analysis, root cause analysis,
statistical processes, failure modes and effects analysis, and medical practice
management are beginning to control licensure and regulatory factors. The Mayo
Foundation will be evaluated for these processes along with change management for the
final presentation. A comparison with Scripps Health and these elements will also be
evaluated.
National Trends Affecting Competition and Pricing Initiatives
Shi, L. & Singh, D. A. (2004) Delivering healthcare in America: A systems approach. (3rd ed.).
Jones and Bartlett, Inc. Sudbury, MA
Technology, government and opposition from other health care associations and the
economy are contributors which resolve in competition and pricing initiatives. The
delivery of health care effects the competitiveness and pricing advantages are more
essential. For example, most trends in Medicare and Medicaid compensation back to the
health care provider; as Medicare and Medicaid administer medical coverage for seniors,
people with disability or for Medicaid recipient for the low-income families. This leave
many heath care providers relying on reimbursement from the agreement made through
the government (Shi & Singh 2004).
Quality Indicators and Local Level Impacts

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) has established a variety of
health care assessment resolutions and investigation tools that can be used by managers,
research, and others at the Federal, State and local levels (Robeznieks, 2008). On the
local level assesses quality by observing the consequence, method, consumer approval
and value. Transparency in pricing is also an indicator which could either help the
organization if the pricing is fair or it could hinder in losses of revenue.
